Russian Children’s Ombudsman said Moscow is ready to return 56 Ukrainian children
The Russian official noted that kidnapped Ukrainian children are now “safe and in touch with their families.”

“As I previously said, the children have been in summer camps in Crimea and Krasnodar region since autumn,” she said.
“With the consent of their parents, citizens of Ukraine, they were temporarily sent along with their escorts away from hostilities to rest and recuperate.”

Lvova-Belova also stated that over the past two weeks, 33 Ukrainian children from Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv oblasts were returned to their families.

On Feb. 25, the EU passed the tenth package of sanctions against Russia, which also targets those involved in abduction of Ukrainian children.
Moscow has taken more than 13,000 Ukrainian children from occupied Ukrainian territories, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants on March 17 for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Russia’s children’s ombudsman, Maria Lvova-Belova, for their involvement in unlawful removal of children from Ukraine since Feb. 24, 2022.
