Russian forces attempt to break through on Sloviansk front but fail General Staff report

Russian forces have attempted to break through the Ukrainian defences near the village of Dolyna on the Sloviansk front, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully repelled their attack.

Details: Russian forces also fired on the areas in the vicinity of Brazhivka, Bohorodychne and Dolyna on the Sloviansk front using tank guns and rocket artillery.

There were no significant changes on the Volyn, Polissia and Sivershchyna fronts, though the troops from the Western Military District deployed on the Sivershchyna front are being rotated. Russian forces also continued to use tubed artillery to shell Ukrainian towns and villages in the areas near the Ukrainian-Russian border.

Russian forces continued to fire tubed and rocket artillery along the line of contact on the Kharkiv front. The Russians used UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance. In addition, they made an attempt to conduct reconnaissance-in-force near Pytomnyk, but were unsuccessful and retreated with losses. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes near Peremoha, Rtyshchivka and Pytomnyk. The Russians are taking measures to replenish their supplies and losses.

On the Donetsk front, Russian forces fired on Ukrainian units using tank guns, as well as tubed and rocket artillery and used UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance of Ukrainian forces’ supply routes and critical infrastructure facilities.

On the Kramatorsk front, Russian aircraft carried out airstrikes near Spirne. Russian forces attempted to conduct reconnaissance-in-force near Serebrianka, but fled after Ukrainian troops met them with fire. The Russians also attempted to conduct assault operations to improve their tactical positions near Spirne, but were unsuccessful and retreated. Fighting is currently underway in the vicinity of Ivano-Darivka.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces fired on civilian infrastructure as well as the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces using tank guns and artillery. They carried out airstrikes near Soledar and Vesela Dolyna and conducted aerial reconnaissance in the wider area. The Russians attempted to conduct reconnaissance-in-force near Soledar, but were forced to retreat after the Ukrainian forces opened fire on them. They also attempted to advance near Zaitseve, and were also forced to retreat without making gains, though fighting is continuing there.

In addition to using artillery to shell a number of towns and villages on the Avdiivka front, Russian forces carried out airstrikes near Marinka and continued to use UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance. They conducted assault operations on Krasnohorivka and Pisky, but were unsuccessful and retreated. Fighting is continuing in the vicinity of Pervomaiske.

On the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russian forces continue to relentlessly fire along the entire line of contact using tubed and rocket artillery, as well as tank guns. Russian aircraft were active near Prechystivka and Vuhledar and the Russians used UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance in the area. The Russians attempted to conduct reconnaissance-in-force near Prechystivka, but retreated. They are continuing to mount an offensive on Pavlivka, where fighting is currently underway. In addition, Russian forces have deployed and are actively using electronic warfare systems in the area.

Russian forces’ main efforts on the Pivdennyi Buh front are focused on maintaining their current positions. They continued to use UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance and used tubed and rocket artillery to fire on Ukrainian positions along the line of contact.

There is a threat of Russian missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine from the Black and Azov Seas.
