Russian forces hit city of Ochakiv and use MLRS to fire rockets on central Mykolaiv

Russian forces used multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) to fire rockets on Mykolaiv city centre on the night of 26–27 September, hitting and damaging a series of civilian targets, including residential buildings, shops and water mains.

Earlier, Kim reported that the city of Mykolaiv sustained two major rocket attacks overnight, around 01:04 and 04:02.

"Preliminary reports indicate that the enemy used a Tornado-S MLRS to attack various parts of the city. So far, we know that a series of civilian targets in central Mykolaiv were hit, including residential buildings, shops and water mains," Kim said.

A storage depot was also damaged and caught fire as a result of the Russian attack.

Early reports indicate there were no casualties.

In addition, Russian forces fired artillery on the Mykolaiv district around 01:30 on 27 September, hitting the coastal area in the city of Ochakiv, in the Ochakiv hromada [an administrative unit designating the city of Ochakiv and its adjacent territory - ed.]. There were no casualties. Another explosion rocked the city at 07:15; information has yet to be confirmed.

The Russians fired rockets on the village of Vesniane in the Vesniane hromada at 04:04 on the morning of 27 September, damaging and partly destroying several residential buildings, social infrastructure, garages and cars. There were no casualties.

A Russian S-300 missile destroyed a public transport stop in a town not far from Mykolaiv on 26 September.

In the Bashtanka district, villages on the demarcation line that goes through the Bereznehuvate hromada are under relentless fire. The outskirts of the village of Murakhivka were shelled at 12:40 on 26 September; several hours later, at 18:20, the area in the vicinity of the Bereznehuvate [rail] station also came under Russian fire. Explosions rocked Bereznehuvate and its outskirts at 13:05 and 18:50. There were no casualties and no damage to property or infrastructure.

The outskirts of the village of Novooleksandribka in the Inhulets hromada were shelled around 14:00 and 16:00 on Monday, 26 September and in the early hours of Tuesday, 27 September. Here there also were no casualties and no damage to property or infrastructure.

The Shyroke hromada is being relentlessly shelled. On Monday, Russian forces attacked the village of Shyroke and its outskirts, damaging two residential buildings and hitting people’s gardens and allotments, as well as several village roads. In addition, a farming business to the north of Shyroke was also struck.

The Russians shelled the village of Chervona Dolyna throughout the day and night, hitting buildings that had been damaged in earlier attacks. There were no casualties.

Operational Command Pivden (South) reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a Russian Orlan-10 UAV in the Bashtanka district.
