Russian invaders could create labyrinth network on second defence line

The second line of defence of the Russians is quite strong and could have an extensive network of labyrinths because the Russians had more than a year to dig in.

Quote: "The second line of defence is quite strong. I don't know why everyone thinks it is weaker. Yes, the density of minefields is lower there, but their number is quite large. The only thing that can play into our hands is that the trenches, dugouts and intersections are not as strong. The Russians had more than a year to dig in, so I think there are labyrinths there."

Details: Shtupun also said that by setting minefields on fire, the Russians are clearing them themselves. But, as he states, "there are a lot of fools in Russia," so they may continue to do so.

The spokesperson for the Tavriia Operational and Strategic Group of Forces stressed that the Russians do not shy away from anything, and the practice of arson has been used since 2014: when the wind blew in the direction of Ukrainian positions, the Russians set fire to the grass.

Background: On 3 September, in an interview with The Observer, Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, Commander of the Tavriia Operational and Strategic Group of Forces, said that the Russian forces have spent 60% of their time and resources on the construction of the first line of defence and only 20% on the second and third. Now the Ukrainian army is advancing on both sides of the breakthrough and consolidating its positions.
