Russian losses in Ukraine hit 32,000, says Ukraine’s General Staff

This is according to the data of Ukraine’s General Staff as of June 11.

In recent days, the Russian Federation has suffered the greatest losses in the Severodonetsk and Bakhmut areas.

Since launching their full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russians have lost more than 9,500 units of military equipment, including (loss over previous day in parentheses):

  • Tanks – 1,419 (+10);

  • Armored combat vehicles – 3,466 (+16);

  • Artillery systems – 712 (+0);

  • Multiple rocket launch systems – 222 (+0);

  • Air defense systems – 97 (+0);

  • Warplanes – 212 (+0);

  • Helicopters – 178 (+0);

  • UAV operational-tactical level – 579 (+7);

  • Cruise missiles – 125 (+0);

  • Warships / boats – 13 (+0);

  • Motor vehicles and fuel tankers – 2,448 (+10);

  • Special equipment – 54 (+0).

Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24. June 11 is the 108th day of full-scale war. The invading forces tried to advance from the north, east and south, shelling peaceful cities throughout Ukraine using artillery and bombing them from the air.

During this time, the Kremlin has changed the goals of its war in Ukraine several times. After a failed operation to seize Kyiv and then the retreat of its troops from Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy oblasts, Russian forces concentrated on fighting for the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, which were under Ukrainian governmental control before the full-scale Russian invasion.

Up to 100 Ukrainian soldiers are killed and 500 more are injured daily, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on June 9. The losses of the Ukrainian military range from 100 to 200 people per day, Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak said.
