Russian media report ‘drone attack’ on Belgorod airport

A flying unidentified drone with explosive materials crashed into a fence at Belgorod airport and blew up, Russian independent news outlet Baza wrote on Telegram.

There were no casualties reported as a result of the incident. The airport has been closed since Feb. 24, 2022 as flights in Russia's south and central regions were restricted.

The explosion caused damage to the airport's fence and alarm system.

Explosions have been happening across Russian cities since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began.

A drone attacked a gas station in Belgorod on March 27.

A series of blasts was heard in the city on March 15. The local authorities claimed air defenses had intercepted two missiles.
