Russian military industry impaired, says UK intelligence

While visiting the Omsk transport machine factory on Feb. 9, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, called for the Russian military-industrial complex to ramp up tank production. In addition, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has urged the military industry to better contribute to the so-called "special military operation” — the Russian euphemism for its full-scale invasion.

During a televised meeting, Putin rebuked Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturiv for "fooling around" with the defense industry, making one of his angriest public statements since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

"Senior Russian leaders are likely aware that the state's military industrial output is becoming a critical weakness, exacerbated by the strategic and operational miscalculation of invading Ukraine,” the MoD stated.

“Production is almost certainly falling short of the Russian MoD's demands to resource the Ukraine campaign and restore its long-term defense requirements.”
