Russian military sees almost 5,000 casualties in one week of Ukrainian offensive

Russia continues to suffer staggering losses in its unprovoked war against Ukraine, losing almost 5,000 troops during the second week of fighting in Ukraine’s counter-offensive against invading Russian forces, a senior Ukrainian army officer has said.

The First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk, reported in a Telegram post on Russia's losses during the week of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive from June 19 to 25.

During this period, the Ukrainian Defense Forces killed approximately 4,810 enemy troops and 692 pieces of weapons and military equipment, Pavliuk said.

In particular, the Russian occupation army lost:

46 tanks;

77 armored combat vehicles; 77 armored vehicles

187 artillery systems;

14 multiple launcher rocket systems;

21 air defense systems;

164 vehicles;

30 units of special equipment.

Ukrainian defenders also shot down four helicopters, 48 enemy missiles and 101 unmanned aerial vehicles over the week.

According to Ukraine’s General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, as of the morning of June 25, Russia has lost more than 224,000 of its soldiers, including 720 troops killed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past day.
