Background:

  • The Russian-backed puppet regime on the occupied territory of Kherson Oblast is planning to forcibly remove residents of the Kakhovka district from their homes. The Russian occupiers expect to "evacuate" up to 70,000 citizens from the 15-kilometre zone along the Dnipro River in 3 days; the process of "evacuation" has already begun.

  • Russian occupiers are intimidating residents of Kherson Oblast with claims that Ukraine plans to blow up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant; however, the Ukrainian authorities deny these claims and emphasise that the Russian military had mined the dam long ago and may provoke flooding of the region and a large-scale environmental disaster.
