Russian missile strike hits apartment block in Kyiv(UPDATED)

UPDATE: As a result of a missile strike by the Russian occupiers on a residential building in Kyiv, six people were injured. At that moment, the body of one victim was found, Vitaliy Klitschko said.

At around 6:20 a.m. on June 26, a series of explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital. Besides the apartment building, another missile struck a kindergarten, according to Interior Ministry advisor Anton Gerashchenko.

According to the DSNS, the top three floors of the building have partially been destroyed,  and the fire has spread to an area of 300 square meters.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that emergency services are working to rescue people, trapped beneath the rubble. Some residents have been safely evacuated; two injured people were hospitalized. A 7-year-old girl has been rescued from the debris.

Nineteen firefighting vehicles and 67 emergency workers are involved on-site.

So far, casualty reports indicate at least two people were injured and one was killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, Russian media reports that Russia’s air force launched cruise missiles at “military targets” in Kyiv. The Putin regime has previously claimed strikes on residential buildings and kindergartens to be “military targets”. Russia has routinely targeted civilian infrastructure and residential facilities in Ukraine with both cruise missiles and artillery.
