On other axes, the Russian army has suffered heavy losses in both men and material, which makes further advances on other critical fronts impossible for the moment.

The ISW noted that the invaders will be able to completely capture Severodonetsk only if they concentrate most of their forces there, meaning they would need to draw back their units to other areas of the country.

The Russian military is also trying to push back the Ukrainian Armed Forces north of Kharkiv and in southern Ukraine, but to no avail.

Earlier, the Luhansk regional governor Serhiy Hayday said that fierce fighting in Severodonetsk continues. The Russian invaders are pulling in all their reserves in an attempt to finally capture the city.

"The situation is quite precarious, but our defenders have a strong defense and are fighting for every home,” Hayday stated.

“Sometimes, in fact, the battle can last all day for one high-rise building.”

According to him, dozens of Russian invaders are dying in street battles every day.
