The Ministry of Internal Affairs will purchase 37 armor panels decorated with images of Christian holy figures St. George the Victorious, Archangel Michael, and the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, with a prayer on each armor panel, for Moscow police.

In January, the Russian Orthodox Church diocese in Samara reported that consecrated chevrons, emblazoned with the Virgin Mary, had been sent to participants in the war against Ukraine. They emphasized that the icon can only be relied upon "with sincere faith and prayer," and that one should not expect any "automatic" help without this. At the same time, the diocese claims that one soldiers who had received a chevron "escaped from a HIMARS shell."
