Also, in the vicinity of Bakhmut, approximately 30 mercenaries from the Wagner private military company have deserted, seizing military equipment and fleeing in an unknown direction.

The Ukrainian General Staff also stated that the forced passportization of Ukrainian citizens (coercing Ukrainians into taking Russian passports and citizenship) is ongoing in the Nizhnesirohozskiy District of Kherson Oblast in Russia-occupied territory.

The Russian invaders are constantly exerting pressure on the local population, threatening deportation and property confiscation. Local citizens who possess Ukrainian passports, driver’s licenses, and registration documentation for vehicles are at risk of confiscation if they refuse to obtain Russian documents.
