Russian strikes hit Ukraine universities: authorities

STORY: A campus of the Donbas State Engineering Academy in Kramatorsk was shelled. No casualties were reported.

In Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city, a 53-year-old woman was found dead after an administrative building of the Kharkiv polytechnic institute was shelled.

The head of Kharkiv Police, Volodymyr Tymoshko, said a total of five rockets hit the city, launched by Russia from Belgorod, a Russian city some 75 kilometres (47 miles) from Kharkiv.

Russian forces have stepped up their shelling of civilian areas of Kharkiv in recent days, in what British intelligence described as an apparent attempt to force Ukraine to keep troops in the area.
