Fedorov said that there were practically no checkpoints left in Vesele, Pryazovske, Mykhailivka and Berdyansk districts.

"They are hastily moving towards Kherson, where our heroic Armed Forces are liberating the occupied territories," he said.

Earlier, on June 7, Oleksandr Starukh, head of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Military Administration, announced that the Russian occupiers were withdrawing troops from Melitopol and parts of Vasylivka districts.

Earlier, the U.S.-based conflict think tank Institute for the Study of War stated in a new report that Russian troops have begun withdrawing units in Zaporizhzhya Oblast.
