Russian invasion forces have seen partial success in the Avdiivka industrial zone, but haven’t established full control there, Ukrainian military personnel Serhiy Volkov said in an interview with Radio Svoboda on Nov. 27.

"The situation is difficult. They (the Russians) have made some advances in certain areas, but it is too early to claim they control the industrial zone," he said.

The Russians are throwing a lot of their forces and infantry into consolidating their positions and making further progress, Volkov said.

"Hovewer, not everything is going well for them because they are getting their asses kicked by our Armed Forces," he added.

Volkov emphasized the importance of awaiting confirmation from the General Staff regarding the situation in Avdiivka.

"The Russians are applying pressure from three sides, advancing roughly from the Yasynuvata side, from the frontal part," he said.

Russian invasion forces have tried several times to storm Avdiivka, throwing several mechanized columns at the city, but they lost 80% of their equipment, the spokesperson for the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces, Oleksandr Shtupun, said on Nov. 22.

Earlier, Shtupun reported that Russia had sharply increased the number of assault operations near Avdiivka.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi said that during the month of active assaults on Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast, Russia lost about 10,000 soldiers.

The Russian military is losing soldiers and equipment near Avdiivka "faster and on a larger scale than, in particular, near Bakhmut," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said earlier.
