Russians are attacking Kharkiv: water and electricity supply down, underground halted, casualties reported

Oleh Syniehubov, the Head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, reported that on 12 September, Russian occupiers launched an attack on Kharkiv.

Details: Syniehubov states that at the moment there is information about 4 people who sustained injuries.

Apart from that, the underground traffic has been temporarily halted: "Staff of the underground have been instructed how to act in such cases. All passengers who were in the train cars at the time are brought to the nearest stations."

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reports that due to the Russian attack, critical infrastructure facilities were damaged, resulting in power outage and a halt in the work of the water supply system.

The occupiers landed their attacks on Kharkiv’s Osnoviansky and Kyiv districts.

The head of the Oblast Military Administration urged the citizens to stay in shelters.

Background:

One person was killed, and two more were injured during the missile strike on Kharkiv’s Novobavarsky district on the night of September 11-12. Two people died due to the attacks on Kharkiv in the evening, and two more sustained injuries.

As of early 12 September, 80 percent of Kharkiv region have been re-connected to the power grid again; the electricity disappeared after missile strikes on the critical civilian infrastructure.

On late 11 September, electricity also disappeared in settlements in other oblasts due to the Russian missile attacks on infrastructure objects. The lights were off in Kharkiv, as well as Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk oblasts.

Prior to that, Ukrainian troops liberated much of the territory of Kharkiv Oblast, which had been occupied by Russians for six months.
