Russians carry out 10 unsuccessful assault on Dnipro's left bank – General Staff report

The General Staff reported that the Russians continued to attempt to drive Ukrainian units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River on 5 January; there were 10 unsuccessful Russian assaults during the day.

Quote: "During the day there were 56 combat clashes. In total, the enemy inflicted 3 missile strikes and 16 airstrikes and carried out 12 attacks from multiple-launch missile systems on the positions of our troops and settlements."

"During the day, the Air Force of the Armed Forces targeted five clusters of enemy personnel. Units of Rocket Forces hit a command point, an ammunition storage point and enemy artillery."

Details: On the Kupiansk front, the Armed Forces repelled seven Russian attacks in the area of Synkivka, Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Bakhmut front, Ukraine’s soldiers repelled three attacks near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in Donetsk Oblast, where the Russians tried to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops.

On the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian forces repelled three attacks in the vicinity of Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka, as well as 16 more near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk Oblast, where the Russians unsuccessfully tried to improve their tactical position.

On the Marinka front, Ukraine’s Armed Forces continue to restrain the Russians near Marinka, Pobeda and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast. Here, the Russians attempted to breach Ukrainian troops' defence 15 times.

On the Lyman front, Shakhtarsk and Zaporizhzhia front, the Russians did not conduct offensive operations.
