Russians continue to attack border areas of Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts

Russian soldiers have attacked several settlements in Kharkiv Oblast and two hromadas in Sumy Oblast [a hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories - ed.].

Details: The Russian occupiers have fired on the border areas of Kharkiv Oblast and settlements close to the line of contact in Kupiansk and Chuhuiv districts over the past day.

Moreover, Kupiansk, Vovchansk, Ohirtseve, Novomlynsk, Andriivka, Kucherivka, Lyman Pershyi, Vilshana, Orlianske, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka and other areas came under Russian fire.

Occupiers damaged five private houses and infrastructure facilities in Kupiansk. A 77-year-old woman sustained injuries, but she received necessary medical treatment at the scene.

Russians shelled Myropillia hromada in Sumy Oblast after 22:00 on Sunday, 1 January 2023, delivering eight strikes. At about 23:00, they used mortars to fire on Krasnopillia hromada, delivering five strikes. There were no casualties or damage caused in either of these cases.
