In the last 24 hours, Avdiyivka went through 10 rounds of attacks by the Russian artillery, according to Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of Donetsk Oblast Military Administration.

Russian artillery is traditionally targeting the town’s civil infrastructure – hospitals, residential areas, parking lots, and local industrial assets, including the coke plant, Kyrylenko added.

“So far we know that at least one person was killed, two people were wounded, but the final count will be confirmed later, as well as a degree of damage,” Kyrylenko said.

He called on the locals to evacuate from the combat zone as soon as possible. Avdiyivka is becoming unlivable and the risks to the life of civilians are critically high.

Not only Avdiyivka but also the city of Slovyansk nearby is also shelled daily. People living there should also get out of the city and go to a safer place in the nearest future, said Kyrylenko.
