Russians launch 84 attacks on Sumy Oblast in one day, damaging monastery

On 5 December, Russians launched 84 attacks on border areas of Sumy Oblast, hitting five hromadas [an administrative unit designating a city, town or village and its adjacent territories – ed.].

Details: The Russians hit one of the border villages in the Shalyhyne hromada twice. They fired 15 shells from the tubed artillery, and later another 22 shells from the multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).

The Russians hit the men's monastery. An administrative building and outbuildings were damaged. The cattle on the monastery’s farm died from shrapnel wounds.

The invaders shelled the Krasnopillia hromada with 80-mm mortars. There were 16 strikes. No destruction was reported.

There was mortar shelling of the border village in the Bilopillia hromada. Eight mines exploded, damaging the garage, a tractor, and three cars at the psychoneurological boarding school.

The Russians shelled the Myropilia hromada with mortars (15 strikes), causing no damage.

There were eight artillery strikes on the Esman hromada from the territory of Russia. No casualties were reported.
