Russians taking incriminating documents out of Crimea, Ukraine says

“They are currently using the (Crimea) bridge for its intended purpose, which is transportation and logistics, in order to try to take away everything that is valuable to them, and may also be valuable to the International Criminal Court,” said Humeniuk.

“These are documents that confirm their illegal activities.”

Humeniuk added that Russian officials are relocating their family members out of the peninsula, with some military personnel attempting to flee by applying for extended leave.

She noted that Russia is trying to concentrate its forces in Crimea, and is building up ammunition and fuel depots there.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov previously said that Ukraine will liberate Crimea “without a fight,” adding that Ukraine does not consider a purely military operation to take back the peninsula. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Russia's war against Ukraine should end with the liberation of Crimea, just as it began with its occupation.
