If you're going to bounce between timelines and invoke the paradoxes of Back to the Future with your 'Time Heist', you're going to come a cropper at some point.

Avengers: Endgame mostly made sense with its time-travelling, but there's still one big unanswered question hanging in the air which directors Joe and Anthony Russo have finally addressed.

How on earth has Peter Parker not told Nick Fury that he looks exactly like Jedi master Mace Windu from his beloved Star Wars? He'd probably not be brash enough to tell Aaron Davis that he looks like Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian, but it's nonetheless true. Parker's such a big Star Wars nerd that he definitely saw Solo: A Star Wars Story in spite of all the production wobbles. At last, the Russos have been confronted with this unforgivable oversight.

"We know Peter Parker has watched Star Wars, and he's hanging out with Mace Windu and Lando Calrissian," asked Anthony Carboni of the official Star Wars YouTube channel during an interview. "How does this work?"

"They just look like those characters," Anthony said.

"Nick Fury happens to look a lot like Mace Windu," Joe echoed.

As a spy, is that not a bit of a handicap? To look like one of the most famous actors in the world? "That's how good Nick Fury is," Anthony said, perhaps secretly confirming that he's also of the belief that Bruce Lee faked his own death so he could fight the Triads.

So, it doesn't sound like there'll be an Oceans 12-style say-you-look-like-Julia-Roberts moment in the near future. Sad.
