Citadel, the star-studded spy drama from Prime Video, has unveiled a new extended look at the upcoming thriller series.

Set to premiere next month, the series executive produced by the Russo brothers stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico) and Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) as Nadia and Mason, two high-profile secret agents working for elite agency Citadel and entangled in a passionate romance.

Eight years later, they seemingly have no recollection of their spy lives. It turns out their memories were wiped following a betrayal from an organisation known as Manticore.

As Mason and Nadia are summoned back to the agency by Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), they'll have to work together to find out what truly went down, while struggling with their attraction to each other.

The new action-packed trailer features a closer look at the train crash that apparently marked the end of the Citadel, with both Nadia and Mason onboard fending off enemies.

Mason, now working as a Little League coach, may not remember much of his previous job, but he definitely hasn't forgotten Nadia. For his part, he also made a lasting impression on Chopra Jonas's spy as she whispers that she remembers everything.

Co-created by High Fidelity executive producer Josh Appelbaum and Bryan Oh, Citadel also features The Crown's Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, Death in Paradise's Osy Ikhile as Carter Spence, NOS4A2's Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy, Skyscraper's Roland Møller as Anders Silje and Davik Silje, and The Midnight Sky's Caoilinn Springall as Hendrix Conroy.

A previous trailer (initially delayed following the news of a train crash in Greece) sees Nadia being confronted by Mason in the present, where he insists she is a spy.

But before a puzzled Nadia could connect the dots, the duo are attacked by a mysterious assailant. That's when Nadia's spy muscle memory springs back, with her fending off the man and saving the day — and Mason.

Citadel starts streaming on Prime Video on April 28.
