Rust’s OT goal ends Penguins’ slide, 3-2

The Pittsburgh Penguins are back in a wild-card playoff spot.

And their losing streak is history.

Bryan Rust scored at 1:16 of overtime to give them a 3-2 victory over St. Louis at Enterprise Center, snapping a four-game skid.

They are one point ahead of four other clubs in the fight for the second wild-card.

Penguins defenseman Marcus Pettersson broke a 1-1 tie at 14:32 of the third period, beating Blues goalie Jordan Binnington from above the left hash mark for his first of the season, but St. Louis countered at 17:33, when Justin Faulk nudged a shot over the goal line during a scramble in Tristan’s Jarry’s crease to force overtime.
