Rutgers women’s soccer remains top five in latest rankings

There was no movement for Rutgers women’s soccer this week, as the Scarlet Knights check in at fourth in the nation in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll.

It has been a solid start to the season for Rutgers, currently 9-0-0 (1-0 Big Ten). On Sunday, they beat No. 21 Ohio State 2-0 at Yurcak Field to start their Big Ten schedule on a strong footing.

Last season, the Scarlet Knights won the Big Ten regular season and advanced to the final four of the NCAA Tournament.

It gets real for Rutgers real quick as the schedule is set to heat up for the Scarlet Knights.

On Thursday, Rutgers plays at Penn State. Despite it being an early season Big Ten game, it is a huge contest for the Scarlet Knights in their bid to repeat as conference regular season champions.

Penn State and Rutgers were tied as the picks to win the Big Ten this season.
