Ryan Day on ESPN's 'College GameDay': Ohio State prepared for weather vs. Northwestern

Ryan Day has had Ohio State football prepared to play in inclement weather all week.

In an interview on ESPN's "College GameDay" Saturday morning before the Buckeyes' noon kickoff vs. Northwestern, the Ohio State coach said he feels the Buckeyes will do what they can with the atmosphere they are given.

"We're going to have to see if we can get the stinger drives going and club up a few times here because we have a strong wind going," Day said. "But we've kind of expected this all week. We'll adapt and make it work."

Evanston, Illinois will be in a high-wind warning with gusts up to 65 mph and a storm warning with a 52% chance of rain starting at noon when Ohio State kicks off against Northwestern on ABC. Both warnings will last until 8 p.m. EST.

Day told "College GameDay" Ohio State practices in "all the elements," but also faced a windy day in the Buckeyes' 49-20 win against Michigan State in East Lansing.

"This is probably a little more extreme, so we will have to be smart," Day said. "But also, we're going to play our game.

"We have to be cognizant of how the wind's blowing. It looks like it's blowing north here. We'll have the wind one of the quarters and then going against it the other quarter. We'll adjust, but we're also going to run our offense.

Ohio State will be without running back TreVeyon Henderson and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba against Northwestern Saturday afternoon.

The Buckeyes are 37.5-point favorites against the Wildcats.
