Ryan McCluskey named Exeter Lincoln Street School principal finalist

EXETER — With 16 years of educational leadership experience at elementary and middle schools across New Hampshire, Ryan McCluskey, of Exeter, has been selected as the finalist for the Lincoln Street School principal position.

McCluskey will participate in a final School Board interview at Lincoln Street School on May 17, starting at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

McCluskey is currently serving as the principal of Memorial Elementary School in Sanborn where he has held this position since 2018. Prior to this role, he was the assistant principal at Sanborn Regional Middle School from 2017-to 2018 and has held language arts teaching positions for sixth and eighth-grade students at Timberlane Regional Middle School in Plaistow over an 11-year span.

McCluskey earned his degree in K-9 education from Elmira College in New York and his Master of Arts in English at Rivier University in Nashua. He holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in educational leadership which he attained from Plymouth State University.

Following the public interview, the Exeter School Board plans to move into a non-public session to deliberate on the principal nomination as presented by SAU 16 Superintendent Dr. David Ryan. The board will take action back in a public session announcing the final selection.

The new Lincoln Street School principal will be replacing Drew Bairstow who will be assuming a new role as principal of the Cooperative Middle School on July 1.

Lincoln Street School, part of SAU 16, in Exeter, is home to more than 500 students in third through fifth grade.
