Ryan Reynolds says Blake Lively is ‘doing great’ following birth of fourth child

Ryan Reynolds has revealed his family are “doing great” after his wife Blake Lively welcomed the couple’s fourth child.

The Hollywood couple announced Lively had given birth on Super Bowl Sunday.

In a very low key announcement, The Gossip Girl star posted a picture on Instagram in which the 35-year-old is seen with no sign of a baby bump as she stands between Deadpool star Reynolds, 46, and his mother, Tammy.

She captioned the image: "Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023... been busy."

Speaking on CNBC’s Power Lunch, Reynolds said: "Everybody’s doing great. Everybody’s actually doing fantastic. I think if we hadn’t figured it out by now, I think we’d be in deep, deep trouble."

He added: "We’re very excited. Look, we wouldn’t do this four times if we didn’t love it."

The star joked that his home is like a "zoo" during his virtual appearance.

"It’s a zoo over here," he said. "This is my office here and to be honest I’ll probably spend the rest of my life in here!"

Reynolds did not reveal the gender or birth day of his new baby. The couple have three daughters James, 8, Inez, 6, and Betty, 3.

“I ain’t telling, this ain’t a birth announcement,” he said.

Earlier this week, Reynolds confirmed he had welcomed British star of The Crown Emma Corrin to the “Deadpool family”.

Corrin, who played Diana, Princess of Wales in The Crown and starred in Lady Chatterley’s Lover alongside Jack O’Connell, has been confirmed as a new addition to the Deadpool 3 cast.

Reynolds, who is reprising the title role as the foul-mouthed anti-hero, tweeted: “New addition to the family! The Deadpool family, for clarity. Which is just like a real family except with less swearing… Welcome, Emma Corrin!”

News of her part in the third Deadpool film comes after Reynolds announced that Hugh Jackman will also be reprising his role as Wolverine.

Jackman, who played the Marvel character in eight X-Men films from 2000 until 2016, was last seen as Wolverine in standalone movie Logan in 2017.

Reynolds previously confirmed the Deadpool 3 film launch date as September 6 2024.
