Ryan Theriot says 'clowns' didn't vote Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens to Hall of Fame

Two-time World Series champion Ryan Theriot did not like Tuesday's announcement from the National Baseball Hall of Fame that Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were denied election to the Hall of Fame.

This was the 10th and final year that Bonds and Clemens were eligible to be elected by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

The only player elected to the Hall of Fame in 2022 was David Ortiz.

Theriot tweeted Tuesday night, "Once again the @officialBBWAA has swung and missed on @BarryBonds and @rogerclemens being elected to the #HOF. You clowns that didn’t vote for them can KICK ROCKS!"

A player needed to be included on 75% of the ballots. Ortiz was included on 77.9% of the ballots, according to MLB. Bonds appeared on 66% of ballots, and Clemens was on 65.2% of ballots.

Theriot was a middle infielder in MLB for the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Francisco Giants from 2005-12. He helped the Cardinals win the 2011 World Series and the Giants to the 2012 World Series.

Bonds won seven MVP awards during his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants from 1986-2007.

Clemens won seven Cy Young awards during his career with the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, and Houston Astros from 1984-2007.

Before his MLB career, Theriot played second base and shortstop at LSU from 1999-2001. In 2000, Theriot was named to the College World Series All-Tournament Team as he helped LSU win the CWS.
