Russia has seen a series of accidents on its railways and at oil depots recently. On May 18, an explosion occurred in Ukraine’s Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula on a rail line near Bakhchisaray, and a freight train derailed.

Shortly before that, explosions occurred in Kozacha Bay near Sevastopol. A large-scale fire broke out at the local oil depot, and thick black smoke rose.

The occupation authorities confirmed damage to four fuel tanks and reported that the fire spread over an area of 1,000 square meters.

According to the representative of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, Andriy Yusov, the explosion at the oil depot destroyed more than 10 tanks with oil products with a total capacity of 40,000 tons.

The oil products were intended for the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the warships of which are launching missile strikes on Ukraine.
