Sabres sign F Johansson to two-year deal

The Buffalo Sabres made their first big move of free agency on Saturday, announcing a two-year, $9 million deal with forward Marcus Johansson.

Johansson, 28, began last season with the New Jersey Devils but was shipped to the Boston Bruins in February.

Johansson had 12 goals and 15 assists in 48 games with the Devils this season. He had one goal and two assists in 10 regular-season games with the Bruins, but tallied four goals and seven assists during their Stanley Cup run.

The Bruins lost to the St. Louis Blues in seven games.

He joined the Devils in a July 2017 trade with Washington after registering 290 points in 501 games with the Capitals from 2010-17.
