This Sacramento-area Grocery Outlet is closing its doors soon: ‘Such a bummer’

Discount supermarket chain Grocery Outlet is closing one of its stores in the Sacramento area, and customers aren’t happy.

The grocery store will shut down at 3431 Watt Ave. in Arden Arcade on April 20, it announced in a Facebook post on Monday.

“Sadly we’re closing our doors at this location soon, but there’s still time for you to save,” representatives of the Grocery Outlet said in its post. “Thank you for the support during our time here!”

The location will be having a sale with items marked at liquidation prices.

Customers reacted to the news with dismay.

“April Fool’s, I hope?” one customer said in a comment on the store’s Facebook post.

“Such a bummer to hear,” another customer wrote. “I shop this one all the time!”

A Reddit user identified as Ron From Sacramento shared the announcement via the social media site, writing, “This is sad. I’m going to miss this location as it’s convenient for me to pass by almost every day while on a work break.”

The owners of the grocery outlet were not available for immediate comment as of Tuesday afternoon.

Where are other Grocery Outlet stores?

According to Monday’s announcement, customers can still shop at nearby Grocery Outlet stores.

This includes the North Highlands location at 3643 Elkhorn Blvd., the East Sacramento store at 6720 Folsom Blvd., and the Carmichael store at 5025 Marconi Ave.

There’s also a Grocery Outlet at 2308 Del Paso Blvd. in North Sacramento.
