Sacramento community leader to attend State of the Union Address

Tuesday is the State of the Union Address in Washington, D.C. It's one of President Joe Biden's most important addresses of the year and lawmakers are allowed to take a guest. U.S. Representative Ami Bera, D-District 6, invited Mervin Brookins, founder of Brother To Brother. The Sacramento native said he was invited about a month ago as representative Ami Bera's guest because of his work with Sacramento's at-risk youth, something he takes seriously after spending 21 years behind bars.
