Sacramento County leaders respond to letter from COVID-19 vaccine equity group

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors responded to an open letter it received from a group called Sacramentans Advocating for Vaccine Equity (SAVE), Tuesday. This group of African American leaders want the county to make COVID-19 vaccine distribution fair and equitable. The letter dated February 17 lays out how the COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionally impacted African Americans. According to state data on COVID vaccine distribution, while African Americans make up about 10 percent of Sacramento County’s population, they make up only 4 percent of those who have been vaccinated.
