Sacramento County Lifts Indoor Mask Mandate

SACRAMENTO, CA — Sacramento County on Wednesday said it lifted a health order requiring all people to cover their face while indoors.

The mask mandate was originally instituted July 26. A Jan. 6 health order required that all public meetings be held virtually. Both were rescinded Wednesday, though unvaccinated people must continue to do so while in indoor public settings.

The move aligns with the state's order to lift its indoor masking requirement amid declining COVID-19 cases.

People will still be required to wear masks while indoors for public transportation, health care, congregate settings like correctional facilities and homeless shelters, long-term care facilities and in schools and childcare facilities.
