Sacramento gets new Ferris wheel during holiday season

The holiday season is going to look a bit different this year in Sacramento. Like many events across the country, longtime holiday traditions are being canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. With several holiday traditions not returning this year, something new is coming instead. On Wednesday evening, a select few got a jump start on the new experience. A 65-foot ferris wheel was installed on the waterfront over the weekend. It allows people of the same household to safely share a gondola while remaining physically distanced from strangers.
