Sacramento Republic FC kicks off 2024 season with training camp

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) – The Sacramento Republic FC returned to the pitch to prepare for the upcoming 2024 USL season Wednesday morning at Cosumnes River College.

The club returns 17 players to the roster with a wealth of chemistry and experience they’re hoping to use to their advantage in this season’s campaign.

“It’s good to get everybody together and all the new guys in,” head coach Mark Briggs said. “An excitement to get new staff and new players integrated into our group.”

“When you come off a loss ending the year, the off season always feels a little bit longer,” said forward Russell Cicerone. “I was gearing up, I’m ready to go. I was happy to see the guys and also excited about seeing some new faces and just ready to get to work.”

Briggs, Cicerone and defender Conor Donovan spoke following training camp.
