One dead and another critically injured in Arden Arcade stabbing, Sacramento deputies say

Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies on Thursday were investigating a stabbing along Fulton Avenue in Arden Arcade where one person was killed and another was critically injured.

The stabbing was first reported about 3:05 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Fulton Avenue, between Arden and Hurley ways. Deputies arrived and found two stabbing victims, both were taken by ambulance to hospitals, said Sgt. Kionna Rowe, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

She said one victim was pronounced dead at the hospital and the other was listed in critical condition. There was no further information about the victims available Thursday evening.

Rowe said deputies detained one person of interest in connection with the stabbing. Investigators did not release any suspect information.

The stabbing occurred along a busy street in broad daylight, so investigators were asking any witnesses to come forward with information about the stabbing.

Sheriff’s officials on Thursday afternoon asked residents to stay away from the crime scene as deputies investigated the stabbing. Authorities closed Fulton in both directions, between Arden and Hurley, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced about 3:40 p.m. Thursday.
