This Sacramento taco shop is one of the best in the US, Yelp says
Sacramento is home to one of the nation’s best taquerias, according to a new list by Yelp.
The online user review-based guide ranked the Top 100 Taco Spots in the country, recognizing Taqueria La Perla Tapatia in Arden Arcade as No. 29.
The Mexican restaurant opened in August 2021 at 2820 Marconi Ave., Suite 1 in Taylor Center shopping area.
To rate the taquerias, Yelp’s data science team reviewed cities with the highest amount of searches for “taco” from August 2022 to August 2023. Each city on the list had to have more than 5 million searches.
“Known for its authentic Mexican flavors and a commitment to quality, Taqueria La Perla Tapatia has become a beloved destination for taco lovers,” Yelp’s article read.
The taqueria’s menu offers breakfast plates and a variety of burritos, tortas and tacos. Customers can choose from traditional street tacos with corn tortillas, crispy tacos or quesabirria tacos. With about 263 user-generated reviews on its Yelp page, the restaurant has 4.7 stars.
“We are truly honored to be recognized as one of the top 100 taco spots in the nation by Yelp,” Toni Malarkey, owner of Taqueria La Perla Tapatia, said in a press release. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in delivering delicious and memorable taco experiences to our customers.”
Several other California spots made the top list, too. Birrieria Little Tijuana in Riverside ranked No. 2 in the country, Frogtowns Gourmet Tacos in Los Angeles was rated No. 5 and Street Tacos and Grill — also in Los Angeles — ranked No. 11.
