Sacramento just made room for another Thai restaurant — and this one features live music and a sports bar.

Thai Time Sacramento held its grand opening on Jan. 18 at 2030 10th St. in Southside Park.

The restaurant, which isn’t related to Thai Time in San Francisco or San Diego, took over the large retail spaces once shared by former doughnut shop Doughbot and popular pizza joint Buffalo Pizza & Ice Cream.

Doughbot hasn’t opened another physical storefront since ceasing operations in September. Buffalo Pizza & Ice Cream returned to its old stomping ground at 2600 21st St. in Land Park in August.

According to its website Thai Time incorporates authentic Thai flavors into its dishes, with ingredients such as green papaya, lemongrass, lime leaf and eggplant.

The menu is jam-packed with a variety of appetizers, salads, soups, curries, noodle dishes, rice platters and desserts.

Restaurant owner Thammasorn Lau had not responded to requests for comment as midday Thursday.

“We are dedicated to bringing you an exquisite culinary journey that tantalizes your taste buds with the vibrant and aromatic dishes of Thailand,” Thai Time wrote on its website. “Our passion lies in delivering an unparalleled dining experience, where every bite transports you to the bustling streets and rich culinary heritage of Thailand.”

The restaurant features booths, tables and a bar with flat-screen televisions.

On certain nights, musicians play in front of a large neon flashing wall decorated with a sign reading “Thai Time.”

Thai Time’s menu ranges from $6 sweet potato fries with sweet Thai sauce to a couple of $28 steak entrees.

The most expensive dishes are the green curry with roasted eggplant and beef short rib, and the marinated ribeye steak with vegetables and chili lime sauce.

The dessert list includes a variety of ice cream pairings including sweet sticky rice with mango, pan-fried roti and deep-fried banana.

The online drink menu ranges from $2 spring water to a $5 Thai coffee or tea.

At the restaurant, customers can order from an alcoholic drink menu.

People who follow the restaurant on Instagram or Facebook get free Thai tea, the restaurant wrote in a December Instagram post.

Thai Time operates seven days a week, according to its website.

Lunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and dinner hours are from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The restaurant reopens for the weekend crowd from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday through Sunday.
