The Natomas Youth Soccer League found a way to give back while sports are currently on hold. Players and parents teamed up with The Crossing Church to hold a drive-thru food drive. They encouraged members of the community to donate non-perishable food items, or make a donation to Joey’s Food Locker. The League’s president, Jes Vargas, said it was important for the organization to step up and help. “Everyone sees the need, especially during these times. We're giving back to the community just like the community does to us during the regular season,” Vargas said. He said there were almost too many people willing to volunteer. To cut down on numbers, volunteers were rotated out every hour during the drive.
