Sacred Heart-Griffin, Petersburg PORTA, New Berlin hoops: Who won the athlete of the week?

Nokomis junior Ryan Eisenbarth won The State Journal-Register's athlete of the week.

Eisenbarth collected 70.9 percent and 12,002 votes ahead of Havana's Kaity Robison, who finished with 22.5% and 3,803 votes.

Meghan Wegner, Sacred Heart-Griffin girls basketball

The senior converted the game-winning free throw with 3.6 seconds left and led the Cyclones with 20 points in a 53-52 Central State Eight Conference win at Decatur MacArthur on Friday.

Duncan Scheidenhelm, New Berlin boys basketball

The senior converted the game-winning layup with 1.1 seconds remaining in regulation and New Berlin came from behind to defeat Auburn 50-49 on Friday in a Sangamo Conference contest. Scheidenhelm scored all nine of his points in the second half, including four in the fourth quarter.

Kam Banks, Southeast boys basketball

The senior guard tallied a game-high 19 points and the Spartans trounced Rochester 62-39 in a Central State Eight Conference matchup at the Rochester Athletic Complex on Friday.

Jayce Privia, Petersburg PORTA/A-C Central girls basketball

The sophomore guard scored 13 of her team-high 15 points in the second half and rallied the Bluejays to a 52-46 nonconference win over Mount Pulaski on Thursday. She had seven points in the third quarter and finished 6-for-6 from the foul line.

William Davidsmeier, Beardstown boys basketball

The senior racked up a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds as the Tigers edged host Rushville-Industry 48-47 on Friday. He finished 9-for-18 from the field and grabbed five offensive rebounds.

Kaity Robison, Havana girls basketball

The junior finished with a game-high 18 points in a 52-25 nonconference win over Williamsville at Root Court on Thursday. She scored 12 points in the third quarter.

Jordan Closs, Niantic Sangamon Valley/Buffalo Tri-City girls basketball

The senior guard connected on six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 22 points as the Storm beat Argenta-Oreana 60-23 in the Macon County Tournament consolation semifinals on Wednesday.

Ryan Eisenbarth, Nokomis boys basketball

The junior finished 11-for-11 from the field and scored a game-high 22 points to go with six rebounds in Nokomis' 64-25 MSM Conference win over Raymond Lincolnwood on Friday. He had 20 points in the first half. Eisenbarth also scored 19 points in Nokomis' 63-57 loss at Calvary on Thursday.
