Cambria Hotels’ second Nashville location, the Cambria Hotel Nashville Airport, officially opened its doors for business on Thursday, April 21.

“Thank you for celebrating this auspicious day with us,” greeted Jay Patel, CEO of hotel ownership and management company Athena Hospitality Group. “Several years ago, I had a vision to develop a high-end, upscale boutique-type hotel in the Nashville market, and I spent a great amount of time looking for the perfect fit. Needless to say, Cambria Hotel & Suites was the perfect fit for us.”

The Cambria Hotel Nashville Airport is an upscale property, similar to the Cambria Hotel Nashville Downtown in SoBro, with a convenient position that is only approximately six minutes away from BNA and 15 minutes away from downtown. It is modern building with four stories and 130 rooms. Design-wise, a trendy approach to capture Music City’s edge was taken. For example, there is a guitar-shaped outdoor pool neighbored by cabanas with a fire pit. The Hangar Bar + Kitchen, a top-notch restaurant specializing in a blend of Asian and Nashville-inspired cuisine will serve as the Cambria Hotel Nashville Airport’s resident eatery and bar.

The grand opening event included entertainment from the Tennessee Titans cheerleaders, performances from local singer-songwriters such as Jessie Clements, bites from Hangar Bar + Kitchen with Executive Chef Steve Townsend, cocktails created by the talented Chef Steve alongside his expert team, a check presentation for a generous donation to the local Ronald McDonald House and a long-awaited ribbon cutting.

Mayor John Cooper was a featured speaker at the hotel’s debut. The mayor introduced important statistics from two reports regarding Nashville’s growth and how the hospitality sector is contributing to it, “The second report is the Urban Land Institute’s annual evaluation of cities and their prospects, and in that, Nashville is at the top of the supernova category among all American cities. The ULI found that our combination of sectors -- that’s healthcare, university, tech, hospitality and music -- provides us with the building blocks for the greatest success in the 21st century.”

Furthermore, Mayor Cooper revealed how there are 2,100 more rooms scheduled to open in the city in this year alone, so therefore, “It’s safe to say we’re back.” The mayor continued, “This is an industry town, and this is a part of our industry. We need to make sure that it’s working and working great.”

The mayor is thankful for the Cambria Hotel Nashville Airport’s team, who now have the ability to provide those from out of town with a second home, “Here’s my appreciation to you and your team for making every visitor that comes to Nashville feel welcome, appreciated, loved on -- having a unique experience so that we are everybody’s favorite town.”
