"Medication Take-Back Day offers a safe way for community members to dispose of unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications, helping eliminate potential public safety concerns and contamination of our water supply," said the CPO press release. During the spring take-back event, 900 pounds of medication was collected.

All medications are accepted free and anonymously, except for needles and syringes, inhalers and glass containers. People do not need to remove labels or personal information, and volunteers and law enforcement will be at each site to answer any medication disposal questions.

Additionally, people can now dispose of vape cartridges at any location. The vape battery can be recycled at Computer Recycling Center of the Ozarks, 528 North Prince Lane, for a fee of $1 per device, according to the press release.
