No. 19 Saint Joseph earned its 14th straight sectional title with a 5-0 win over host Clay in sectional finals play at Leeper Park Thursday evening.
Wednesday matches: Penn claims another sectional crown while Saint Joseph closes in
Coach Steve Bender's squad advances to face Penn Tuesday in one semifinal of the LaPorte Regional at Kesling Park. Penn won its 21st straight sectional crown Wednesday night.
Saint Joseph, which beat Penn in the regional final in 2021, edged the Kingsmen 3-2 in a dual match earlier this season.
Saint Joseph dropped just one game in three singles matches Wednesday to down the Colonials. Clay forfeited at both doubles spots.
The singles trio of Davis Borders, Colin Blumentritt and Will Westberry were dominant to pace the champions, who improved to 18-4.
No. 18 Goshen continued its perfect season with its third straight sectional crown. The host RedHawks topped Bethany Christian 5-0.
Goshen, now 21-0, advances to play DeKalb in the Concord Regional semifinals Tuesday evening.
Bremen made it four sectional trophies in a row with a 3-2 win over Plymouth in the finale of the Bremen Sectional.
The host Lions won all three singles matches, led by Mariano DeLeon at No. 1, to earn the title. Bremen advances to the Culver Academy Regional to play the Peru Sectional champion Tuesday.
LaPorte won all five positions in straight sets to down New Prairie 5-0 in the LaPorte Sectional finale.
The Slicers, now 18-6, face Chesterton back at LaPorte in a regional semifinal match Tuesday evening at Kesling Park.
Northridge claimed the Concord Sectional title with a 5-0 win over Elkhart. The Raiders return to Concord Tuesday to face the East Noble Sectional champion in a regional semifinal matchup.
