TENNIS

Saints top Eagles, streak remains

St. Scholastica downed Northwestern 7-2 in men's tennis in Duluth, exiting UMAC regular-season play undefeated this century.

The CSS men's tennis team has not lost a conference regular-season match since 1998, a span of 172 straight victories. Aside from that streak, the only dual match CSS has lost to a UMAC opponent during that time was to Northwestern in the UMAC tournament championship in 2018.

CSS improved to 8-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play with Saturday's win while the Eagles fell to 16-3 and 3-1.

With St. Scholastica entering the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this fall, the streak will end with that win.
