PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Salem police are investigating a homicide which occurred early Wednesday morning.
At around 1:30 a.m., a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy — who was originally responding to a report of gunshots — came upon a vehicle blocking the roadway near 1100 block of Cordon Road Southeast, officials said. The deputy reported finding a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Salem Police then responded to the scene and began a homicide investigation, closing down the surrounding streets for approximately six hours, according to authorities.
Police say no arrests have been made and they have not released the victim’s identity at this time. However, police did say the victim was 23-years-old.
