A Homeworth resident has been named director of plant operations at The Label Team of Salem.

Jack Steele, who has been with the company since 1999, was promoted this week, according to company officials.

The locally owned The Label Team manufactures pressure-sensitive labels, tags and other products produced using digital and flexographic print technologies.

The Label Team marked its 25th anniversary in 2023, and the company was founded in 1998 by owner flexographic industry veteran Dean McDaniel. All production takes place in Salem Industrial Park.

Steele started as a part-timer, and then moved to full-time press operator. From there, he progressed through the positions of working foreman, to production manager, to plant manager, and now to director of plant operations.

“Jack has been an integral member of our leadership team for many years and remains a key to our ongoing success,” The Label Team said in a news release. “We are excited to see what the future holds for The Label Team and are privileged to be able to rely on Jack’s expertise and diligence.”

Steele lives with his wife, Julie, and enjoys spending time with their new dog Tucker. He has two adult sons and is an avid hunter, fisherman and golf enthusiast in his spare time.
