Salisbury hearing aid company reaches settlement in Maryland lawsuit over unfilled orders

Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced Thursday that his Consumer Protection Division has entered into a settlement resolving an investigation into A&J Hearing Aid Sales, Inc. Audio Advantage Hearing Aid Center.

Audio Advantage Hearing Aid Center, which was formerly located at 209 Milford Street, Suite B, in Salisbury, closed in 2021. Prior to its closure, Audio Advantage became unable to fulfill purchase orders and initially failed to issue refunds timely.

The settlement bars Audio Advantage and its former owner from selling goods that they do not expect to be able to provide within a reasonable time. The settlement also requires the owner to pay refunds to any Audio Advantage consumers who have not already received refunds for goods they purchased but did not receive.

“This settlement requires Audio Advantage to pay any customers who are still owed refunds for purchased hearing aids that were not provided,” said Attorney General Brown. “When businesses navigate challenges, consumers should be shielded from undue consequences. Our Consumer Protection Division plays a pivotal role in promoting fairness and safeguarding Marylanders in receiving vital health-related goods and services to improve their quality of life.”

Consumers who are owed refunds from Audio Advantage may call the Consumer Protection hotline at 410-528-8662 or 888-743-0023 (toll-free).
